My first visit with The Pantaloons was for last Thursday’s performance of their self‑written annual pantomime, Snow White and the Seven Dames, by Simon Vines and Ros Tunbridge. The production offered a distinctive take on the familiar story, showcasing the company’s flair for crafting their own material. Profits from this production are being donated to support St. Catherine’s Hospice, adding a meaningful purpose to an already spirited community event.
The production team behind Snow White and the Seven Dames brought together a trio of creatives whose combined experience ensured the storyline included humour, local references, nods to current events, plenty of bad puns and ‘double entendres’– exactly what was expected from a pantomime! As the Director, John Hallahan guided the production with a steady hand, shaping its pacing, twists and overall vision. Musical Director Robert Randall provided the musical backbone, ensuring the songs supported the storytelling and kept the pantomime’s momentum bright and engaging. Choreographer Becky Crisfield added movement and visual flair, crafting routines that suited the cast, the space, and the playful tone of the piece.
Congratulations once again to everyone at The Pantaloons and those directly involved with Snow White and the Seven Dames. It was a lively, good‑humoured production that clearly reflected the hard work and commitment of the whole team, going right to the heart of what community theatre does best — bringing people together while supporting local charitable causes.
Good Luck with the rest of this production and I look forward to visiting again!
