The stage was set with a beautiful sparkly curtain with the words Sleeping Beauty on.First we met the fairies, Moonbeam, Starlight and Dust who introduced us to the story to be told. The fairies all had lovely bright sparkly costumes, even down to their shoes. Our first song was “Can’t stop the feeling”. The choreography was great in this, with all members on stage performing well. There were a lot of young members and these all held their characters throughout. I did feel that the music was a little too loud and we couldn’t hear the words of the song.
Muddles interacted well with audience and wore a very bright costume. Then Nanny Night nurse arrived from the auditorium. She had a selection of very bright and outrageous outfits throughout the show. She played her part well with lovely interaction with the audience. I did like the set for the castle christening scene, in which we met the King and Queen. Next we met the evil aunt Carabosse and what a nasty creature she was. She encouraged the audience with plenty of booing. She had a beautiful voice when she sang “ I put a spell on you.” The young Aurora, Arthur and Avarice did a great performance of you can count on me. I have to say that all the younger members of the cast were magnificent in “Revolting children” with great singing and more great choreography. Another delightful performance came from Prince Arthur, the grown up Aurora and Avarice singing and dancing to the “Best Song Ever”.
The birthday party costumes were bright and colourful. The Dancing in the Aisles choreography was stupendous, in my notes I wrote wow. The ballet dancers were excellent. After Aurora collapses into her deep sleep the fairies performed ”I need a hero” with more great choreography. We had lovely rendition of “Hushaby mountain” from Nanny Night nurse followed by Aurora, Muddles and Nanny performing “Ghost-busters.” There was great lighting for Carabosse’s song “Boulevard of Dreams” which she sang beautifully. Next was her coronation and her dragon with great special effects. “Together in electric dreams “ was another great performance with fabulous choreography. The audience enjoyed the “Wake me up before you go go” participation song. We ended with “The good night song” and “Spread the love” with more fabulous costumes and choreography. This was an amazing production with great scenery, fabulous choreography and stunning costumes. It was certainly a WOW performance. Well done to all the cast and crew for a wonderful performance. Thank you so much for inviting me and I look forward to your next performance.
