Sizzling Summer Nghts

EBOS’s latest musical revue, Sizzling Summer Nights was a highly entertaining selection of songs that reference Summer, Sun and Rain and is a perfect opportunity to showcase the musical talents of the society by giving every member of the cast a couple of songs. Curated by the Director it is an eclectic mix of pop songs, classic musical theatre numbers and a sprinkling of less well-known tunes to add variation and interest. Simply staged but using occasional props and some appropriate projected images to set each song, the focus is on the singing and the cast proved that individually and as a Company together they can deliver a tune.

The standout songs of the evening were a wonderful Over the Rainbow, a brilliant Summertime and an exuberant fun June is bustin’ out all over.. The Company numbers of Too Darn Hot, Song of Purple Summer, Seasons of Love, and Bring on Tomorrow provided wonderful powerful openings and closings to each act. It made for a very pleasant, uplifting and enjoyable evening.
