Not having seen the film, or the show, the only thing I knew about the show was that it was about a Nightclub singer turned nun and that Whoopy Goldberg was in the film, but it was an evening of pure light hearted entertainment. It certainly was a heavenly production that had glitz, "glam" and real heart!!
Sharon Stacey made an excellent Deloris giving the part her full commitment. Mother Superior (Judi Johnson Hart) as always gave 110%. Congratulations to all the other Sisters - they all looked as though they enjoyed being in the show and I for one couldn't recognise any of them, which to me is good theatre! The performances of Steve Mather (Monsignor O'Hara), Martin Peacock (Curtis), Jamie Cooke (Eddie), John Crowther (Joey), Josh Holliday (Pablo), Ted Tooley (T.J.) and Steve Pashley (Ernie - a very brief appearance) certainly entertained us. Gareth Davies' direction brought out the comedy of the piece, Sally Wragg's choreography was just at the right level. Andrew Griffiths with Matthew Malone and the ten piece orchestra certainly gave a good sound and accompanied the principals and ensemble well. Well done everyone
