What a joy it was to join the audience at the Caldicot Choir Hall to witness the come back
show for Caldicot Musical Theatre Society, Sister Act.

I can only say they did come back and came back with a “BANG”. A great production from
curtain up to the final rousing number that had the audience on their feet.

As always with Sister Act the choral numbers were a highlight and always an audience
pleaser. My congratulations to the cast for the toe tapping excellence of each number, and
to the musical direction and choreography, that enhanced the musicality of every scene.

I must also commend the visual impact made by the costume/wardrobe team Vera Willis, Jo
Postle and Heini Skinner. You really made a difference.

Tess Morgan as Deloris Van Cartier thrilled the audience with the power of her musical
performance and left no one in any doubt as to the character she was playing. Tess owned
the stage with every movement. An outstanding voice.

A good performance from Lucy Bradbury as Sister Mary Robert. Lovely characterisation,
emotional and expressive. She made the part her own. Very well done.

Well done to Natasha Kus as Sister Mary Patrick, very expressive and a great rapport with
her co-performers. Well done.

Sister Mary Lazarus created for us by Deb Hughes. A triumph of characterisation, great
comic timing, a joy to watch. Very well done.

Mother Superior played by Jo Postle, created her character from her opening lines. A strong
performance, controlled, emotional and with intuitive comic timing and humour. Very well
done.

A good performance by Shannon Bradbury, Aylish Dunne, Daisy Pugh, and Angharad Elson
as The Backing Singers. It was sassy, classy, and well sung.

It was good to see a strong male casting.

Curtis Jackson played by Matthew Geary. Everyone loves to hate the bad guy, but
nevertheless, well done.

Eddie Southern played by Elliot Postle. A lovely performance very sympathetic and
emotional especially in the very difficult solo, “I could be that Guy”. Great costume switch,
very slick Sweaty Eddy.

Monsignor O’Hara played by Andy Ost, really did it his way and it worked. Good to see a
cheeky, open more inclusive Monsignor showing a comic side not often seen. Well done.

A lovely rapport between the Bad Boys. Bryn Geary as Pablo [very impressed with the
accent]. Mike Probert as Joey and William Shannon as TJ gave us a great dance routine. A
well-cast trio.

IT was so good to see this society back and doing what it does best. My congratulations to
you all on a great performance.
