Glorious and enthralling!! What a lovely evening I have just experienced at the Avenue Theatre in Sittingbourne coutesy of Avenue Theatre Productions' junior group. If you want an evening of big voices from young people go and see “Show tunes Sleepover”.
Parents in the audience should be very proud of their children. A nice script written by Adam Bicknell, directed beautifully by Lisa Thornton and Musical Director Steve Austin. How can I mention all 23 of you up there on that stage, I can’t because you all excelled whether you were singing solos or part of the ensemble. It gives an old man hope for the theatre of the future. I liked the projected links to the story by Steve Austin, and lighting and sound again by Steve Austin and lighting Michael Fryer and Harley Neeve. All this hard work and professionalism made this sleepover a super piece of young theatre, glorious and beautifully executed by the young people of Avenue Theatre Productions Junior. I drove home a happy man. Thank all of you for giving me an enchanted evenings entertainment. Well done.
