An interesting set with original SHOUT! artwork certainly set the scene for what proved to be a successful night for the audience and company alike. The pre-show consisted of psychedelic images and an audio mix from the 60’s that ensured the audience were in the right frame of mind for this lively musical review.
A great opening number “Talk About Love” was well executed with choreography (Lois Banks), that the whole company could perform, well done!
This review revolves around 5 females and Girl Power was certainly on show the night I attended. I particularly liked the duet You’re My Word / All I See Is You (Bethan Searle & Rebecca Davies), which really did bring the house down. Strong performances from; Lois Banks – “Son Of A Preacher Man”, Lisa Jones – “Couldn’t live without your love” and Alana Frassinellis’- “Those were the days” adorned as Nana Mouskouri really lifted this production.
I must pay a special note to Orange Girl, Rebecca Davies her vocals were really first class.
There is little or no story line in this show, however the music under the guidance of Emma Arscott had me singing along, (has it been that long!). Well-done Billboard. A great show, good lighting with a well drilled chorus that kept the audience engaged. It proved to be a great nights entertainment worth shouting about.
