A very enjoyable evening of scenes, sketches and songs show casing the talents of the P&P drama section and the P&P Singers, with cocktails, ice cream and nibbles available that can only add to the enjoyment on a very warm summer evening,
The drama section started the evening off with an opening poem called “Summer Cocktail” followed by snippets from “The Importance of Being Ernest” “George and Margaret” “Pride and Prejudice” and “Bedroom Farce” all excellent and well performed with some great comedy. The singers ended the first act with five wonderful numbers, of which the highlight for me was “Brightly Dawns our Wedding day” from The Mikado” and a very moving “Tell me it’s not true” from Blood Brothers “.
The Second Act followed the same theme with a sketch called “Visiting Mr Thomas” a wonderful monologue “The Actress” which I am sure many of us could relate to, and scenes from “Gaslight” and “Hayfever” which were all excellent. The singers then closed the evening with another lovely selection ending with “ New York, New York”
A big congratulations to all concerned both on and off the stage on another excellent event. These annual summer productions, bring together the three sections of P&P productions under one umbrella and not only are they very entertaining, they are also a very enjoyable social event .
