With four substantial female parts and one male character, it is not entirely surprising that this is an attractive play for amateur companies. However, it still requires talented performers to do justice to the material – there is no space for passengers. Fortunately, notwithstanding a couple of late replacements, The Priory Players had strength in depth to ensure that there were no weak links. Space was imaginatively used, with the call centre located on the main stage while a rostrum forward stage left of the proscenium arch provided space for the manager’s office.
