This production of Scrooge the Musical by B.A.T.S. was well cast in all roles in the main by some very experienced principals. Darren Smith was an excellent Scrooge, being first a very grumpy and miserly old bookkeeper who repents his past and becomes a benefactor to his family and the community, a very fine performance on both sides of the role. There were some very impressive contributions from all the remaining cast especially Les Smith (Mr. Fezziwig), Kevin Mawson (Bob Cratchit), Alison Smith (Jenkins) and all the three ghosts Pamela Jagger Robert Burns and Elaine Wharton as Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come. The set was well constructed and organised as were the costumes and excellent orchestra. I was a little disappointed with the ghost scenes, the lighting and sound could have been used to stronger effect I feel.
