SCALES OF JUSTICE
BY BETTY JONES
A play set in the present day and written by life member of EVODS Betty Jones it brings members of a family together when a Wedding Day is approaching.
The Mother of the Bride, an outrageous social climber, played brilliantly by Cheryl Williams with expert light and shade evident throughout as she planned the Wedding of her Darling Daughter, Alexandrina Olivia Morris played by Sadie Jones.
Sadie gave just the right level of anticipation and built the character which she expertly wound like a spring
The three Aunts were a delight to hear and watch as they discussed the impending event and revealed their identical Wedding gifts! Aunt Mabel Sharon Williams, Aunt Muriel Mandy Phillips, and Aunt Margaret Margorie Crowe. Their delivery was crisp and well timed. Reactions to the unfolding saga of called off Wedding, marriage collapse and financial ruin of Mrs Gillian Morris was one of total immersion in the moment from all the excellent actors.
