The story involves the intricate life style of a London Cabbie with two wives and their precisely scheduled lives which goes awry when he suffers a mugging and he tries to keep this double life from becoming general knowledge in the face of police investigations.

Aled Jones-Pritchard as John Smith handled the massively wordy role with some ease and showed us all the different areas required, the confusion, the quick thinking and rather stupid but plausible explanations to the various policemen, his wives and Stanley.

Helen Harries as Mary Smith created a more solid character than the flighty Barbara, which was good contrast. Diction was good and good stage presence.

Amy Perry as Barbara Smith gave us a real understanding of her character, and gave a good all round portrayal of the character.

Patrick Baker as Stanley Gardner was the stand out performer of the night, good facial expressions, and didn’t drop his character at all.

Strong performances were given by Carole Fletcher, Stephen Lane, Chris Hywel Bell and Alison Hawkesworth supporting the main cast, each giving credible performances.

The play had been cast well as everyone looked very comfortable in their own roles.

The set was well designed and functional and the lighting was appropriate. A good variety of costumes, props were used.

Director Mimi Ferrier had certainly put some work into this production, the cast were well rehearsed and well drilled and the scenes cleverly plotted.
