It’s always a pleasure to visit United Players - they treat me so well. Tea, Victoria sponge cake and shown to my seat, I don’t get that with all my society’s I visit, so thank you United.
I’ve been visiting United for a few years now and what a progression they have had, in all things Pantomime, so slick and smooth transitions. Written, produced and directed by Danny Da Val he certainly knows how to write and direct a splendid pantomime. Well done to him and his cast, not a missed line or comedy all delivered by a huge cast effortlessly, on such a small stage. Choreography by Poppy Barry was very effectively set and your dancers executed it well with ease, and a smile. Jon Hicks Stage Manager kept the whole thing rolling along nicely. The simple set and props (Mike Young) made this show special for me.
Such a large cast of 24 on stage, it’s difficult for me to mention all of you individually so I’m not going to try, it would take pages! Characterisation of all your parts in all roles from Kings, Sheriffs, Friars, Mister Mime, Marion, Fairy Boom, Bonbon’s perfect accent, and all supporting roles were filled with commitment and all looked as if they were having a fun time, and it showed. This is what made this Robin Hood stand out from other pantomimes I have seen this season (and I’ve seen a lot).Your commitment and camaraderie between you all made this a very successful Robin Hood, a joy to watch. Congratulations go out to all of you, for giving my guest and I a fun filled evening at the pantomime. Well done.
