What a pleasure to be back in a village hall to see Pantomime again this Christmas and lovely warm welcome for my first visit to see a CATS production. Pantomime relies on a good script with traditional storytelling and comic business and plenty of jokes and they have found a gem in Pumpkin Panto’s Robin Hood. The School room scene and Ghost bench scenes were fitted seamlessly into the story and are always a show highlight.

The youthful looking cast, with just a few older heads to guide them on stage, threw themselves into this jolly romp through Sherwood Forest with the strong direction, well-timed comic delivery and good song selection. There were very strong perfornmances from perfomers playing the characters of  Nanny, Poison Ivy and Scuttle and Scurry.

This show had the feel of a lively fun society with a good mix of ages. They made the most of an excellent script and the limited technical facilities, kept the running time to under two hours and have produced a very good pantomime that they should be proud of.

Well done to everybody involved.
