Robin Hood Robin Hood rode into St Pauls this week, but wasn’t unnoticed. St Pauls gave us a good pantomime, directed by Derek Elmore and Musical Director Irene Gardiner.

The cast was chosen well by Derek and all gave their best. A nasty Nick (Sherriff of Nottingham) in Nick Swain, a tall Nurse Nancy who overpowered the rest of the cast, and a nicely played Kathy Milner as Maid Marion, a young Alana Dale, backed up by Steph Healy, Marion Newell, and Paul Harris as Will Scarlet, Friar Tuck and Little John. Sally Murphy and Sam Digby gave us the comedy, in the guys of Gisbourne.

For a small stage the group painted the set very nicely. Costumes were colourful and in period. There was a lot of audience interaction and this keep coming with water and sweets.. yum yum I did get one. All in all this wasn’t St Pauls' best pantomime - a little slow in places, dialogue by some needed to be slicker. But the audience and the kids liked it and that is really what pantomime is all about. Good luck with ‘South Pacific’ later in the year. St Pauls its always a pleasure to come and see you all, you always make me and my guest very welcome.
