Having performed the show eleven years previously, Bromley Players returned with a fresh take and brand new production team. The minimalist set based on scaffolding up stage maximised stage space, but would have been enhanced by detail in the set furniture and dressing. An exceptionally strong principal line-up was supported by an extremely talented ensemble. Vocal performances were strong and the harmony work on numbers such as “Seasons of Love” did not disappoint, in spite of occasional voice/band imbalances to the detriment of some of the lyrics. Choreography was well suited to the style of show, framing but never drawing focus from the action.
