PUSS IN BOOTS

As usual this was again a very high standard pantomime with all the essential panto ingredients and very strong casting in the principal roles. Laura Jane Siddall (Colin as Principal Boy) and Charlotte Wallis (Princess Marigold as Principal Girl) were a well matched attractive couple giving sound acting performances. The humour was in the hands of David Firth (King Ichabod) giving a super laid back performance a brilliant foil for Keith Speight (Queen Florence) who was excellent with a much more aggressive style. Special mention for Victoria Johnson as Puss in Boots, this was a most stylish and charming performance and Matthew Finnemore (Silas Slime), this was an excellent 'malicious' performance that made us all 'hate' him. The remaining parts all contributed much to the production. The choreography was outstanding with most enjoyable tap routines and a brilliant UV one at the haunted mill. The costumes, especially for the finale, were just outstanding by any standards. The sound, music and scenery did much to enhance this very fine production.
