Edge Hill Players’ annual pantomime is a firm fixture in the local calendar, and I was met with the usual buzz of anticipation on arrival. The company’s blend of community spirit, family involvement, and wholehearted enthusiasm always promises to offer an eve3ning of entertainment bringing together performers of all ages for more lively pantomime fun!

Puss in Boots, written by Wendy Tansey and Terry Marsh, was very much an Edge Hill Players creation — a self‑written version packed with extra characters, fresh twists, and plenty of original humour. Their expanded take on the familiar tale gave the cast lots to play with and added a distinctive flavour that set this production apart from the traditional storyline.

Wendy Tansey and Terry Marsh steered the production with a clear sense of fun and pace, shaping a busy show with a large cast into a well‑structured, good‑humoured pantomime full of personality. The time and effort invested in coordinating such a large company was evident throughout, with strong principals, well‑drilled ensembles, and several terrific musical numbers that showcased the breadth of talent involved.

Congratulations to Edge Hill Players on another lively, colourful pantomime that showcased the company’s trademark energy and community spirit. Strong performances across the cast, enthusiastic work from the children, and a committed backstage team all combined to deliver a thoroughly enjoyable Puss in Boots that clearly deserved its warm audience response.
