A well-rounded, well put-together, and very well-acted play with some stand-out performances and moments of superb emotional depth. The audience was utterly absorbed in ‘Dr James Stagg’s’ story, and the actor playing him built an amazing rapport with them – something that I haven’t seen before in any play that I’ve been to for NODA. A cast of lively and engaging characters really brought this story to life, and the set was really immersive, creating a believable sense of a real workplace. It was impressive how a few well-chosen pieces of furniture really captured the historical period, and I was particularly taken by the big weather maps (specially made for the production), which were the perfect finishing touch and looked fantastic.
