If ever there was a production that defined “teamwork” then this is it! From start to finish “Pirates of Treasure Island” was a great evening’s entertainment, produced, directed and performed by a dedicated team of people. This show was very cleverly written by David Knights and Georgia Knights, choreographed by Sevi Ledgard, Charlotte Mann and Hannah Wedge, and directed by David & Sevi. The show gave the audience an insight into a “variation on a theme” of the perhaps more traditional story of Treasure Island. Everyone involved in the performance gave their all. There was a great selection of both popular and musical show songs, which really blended well with the story. Not only were there great solo’s, duets and trio’s, but the whole cast performed all the “company” numbers with such gusto and enthusiasm. It gave everyone a chance to shine. Well done to everyone – it’s not always easy performing to “backing tracks”, but no one was phased by the use of pre recorded material. The great lighting and sound effects added to the mood of the piece. Combined with great costumes and make up, fabulous props and a very busy “stage crew” changing the scenes, all of this gave all of us in the audience a great evening’s entertainment. It was a pleasure, once again, to present a Youth Award at the end of the performance. Best wishes to those members who are going off to pastures new (University) – and well done to everyone involved in “Pirates of Treasure Island”. I very much look forward to your next production!
