Peter Pan is a musical adaptation by John Yeats, based on the original story by JM Barrie. The set is very good and works well; I liked the idea of the panels at the back being turned round to change the scene from London to Neverland, very clever. The stage hands changed all the props from one scene to another making good use of all the space, quickly and effectively. Lighting, sound and effects are good, the costumes are just right and colourful in the right places. I loved the crocodile.

Becky North as Director, assisted by Jackie Reynolds, have worked hard and there is a lot of attention to detail, good songs and a very talented cast, which all made this a good production. Jonathan ‘Jono’ Spratt is Musical Director & has worked hard with the singing, the small band works well.

Charlie Lakin is great in the role of Peter Pan, he has great facial expressions and a good stage presence. Mae Osborne is lovely as Wendy and has a nice voice, they work well together. Keira Hayfield is in character as the mischievous Tinkerbell. Owen Hunt and Finley Smith are also well cast as brothers John and Michael.

In this version there is a Fairy storyteller, played by Bella Gago-Martin, she too has good facial expressions and a nice voice. The other characters are nicely played. Sadie Cook is Tiger Lily, Peter Ansell is the Indian Chief, Bex Fairless & Tim Mabbett are Mr & Mrs Darling. Julie Sturmey is Mrs Twinkey the housekeeper and Teresa Miller plays Nana.

I really liked Nathan East as Captain Hook, he got the audience booing him, has great stage presence and seemed to be enjoying every minute of being a ‘baddie’. Harriet Caines is also very good as Smee, Piers Darling plays Starkey.

The chorus all work well and have lots to do as Indians, and pirates. The children’s chorus are all lost boys - they each have their own character to play and stick to them throughout.

Well done everyone on this super production.
