On one of the coldest evenings of the year we sat down to watch J.M. Barrie's delightful story of Peter Pan, about the mischievous young boy who never grew up and lived in Neverland.  This timeless story was brought to life with the Lost Boys, Pirates, Mermaids, Indians and Faries also involving the Darling Family.  Of course this was the perfect vechile for Halifax YMCA Panromime Society to tackle something different with ingenous aerial flying and a Crocodile that actually dedvoured Captain Hook.  Although I found this a weak script the Society put everything into this Pantomime to make it go well.

Peter Pan, (Karen Parken) was extremely strong vocally and controlled her aerial flying well.  Her nemesis Captain Hook/Mr Darling, (Calum Davidson) played his dual role with conviction.  Tinkerbelle, (Sophie Irving) aged eleven portrayed her character beautifully.  Smee, Broker 1, Broker 2, (Christopher Williamson-Coombs, Amanda Gatehouse, Karen Rice) Captain Hook's three sidekicks worked very hard to producr the humour and laughs in this pantomime.  Emma the Housekeeper (Andrew MacDonald) bounced on and off the stage both in the Darling household and Neverland.  The three children Wendy, John and Michael, (Kaitlyn Poules, Jacob Perrin, Leon Alexander) portrayed their characters delightfully.  All other supporting roles added to the whole production including Nana the dog.

Once again there were three teams of dancers, all were well choreographed and a lovey team of very little lost boys. A well dressed stage with lots of good scenery and props, an impressive Pirate ship all in lights for the finale, the whole Pantomime was well lit throughout.  A good team effort the cast had fun and the audience throughly enjoyed every moment.
