A Concert of songs and scenes to commemorate World War I and World War II, that involved all three sections of P & P Productions, The Musical Theatre society, The Players and The Singers.

The musical numbers were all songs that were well known throughout the war years, all very enjoyable and performed to a very high standard.  In my opinion “Keep the Home Fire burning” was the outstanding song of the evening, and brought a very moving end to the first act.

I also particularly enjoyed “Three last Tommies”, “A Nurses Memoirs”, “The Somme” and “Betty’s Letters” that were performed by members of The Players.  Each one performed with great feeling, some were very moving and thought provoking.

To mark the centenary of armistice, which brought an end to World War I, there was a short extract from      “The War Horse” which was excellent. This was followed by an act of remembrance, together with the Last Post, Silence and Reveille.

I thought that this was an excellent concert that was very well thought out and put together. A fitting tribute to everyone who lives were affect by World War I and World War II.
