Mimi Ferrier gave us her interpretation of this very witty farce that was lapped up by the audience on the night I attended.
The set was, as expected first class and is always a credit to the company being designed and managed by Lucy Chiplin.
Our romantic cad tonight was Dan Collier Roberts (Richard Willey, Junior Minister), wooing the scantily clad Mrs. Jane Worthington, Leader of the opposition’s secretary, played by Melanie Connors. Together they had the audience in raptures and found themselves in some extremely peculiar positions and circumstances.
Enter stage right the unassuming George Pigden PPS, played wonderfully by the very talented Chris Powell whose stage presence and wickedly knowing asides kept this play rolling from one disaster to the next, well done!
Farce is an art, and for most of this production the tempo was maintained at a great pace.
I must mention Bryn Stone who was great in his portrayal of the “body”, and acknowledge the hard work of the supporting company. All this along with the smart moves of the Choreographer (Tracey Coleman), made this production the success it so obviously was.
Well done again RATS!
