Lilies on the Land
Shinfield Players Theatre, SPT
A brilliant and solid set, with not a tremor when the sash window (capable of killing a private detective) fell, scaring the cast and the audience at each repetition, or when a cupboard door opened with his body hanging on it, was matched by fine Direction and superb performances from the body, the MP and the secretary frustrated in their attempted liaison, her thuggish husband, the timid civil servant discovering passion and the others in Ray Cooney’s fabulously cast hilariously farcical evening.
