The advantages of having a professional theatre as your home, together with members of the profession dedicated to “passing on their love of the theatre and an understanding of its necessary disciplines” showed up throughout this wholehearted production. High standards were set by the sixteen-year-old lead with amazing non-stop energy to compliment his fine singing, dancing, acting and understanding of how Joe Casey at that age might decide to be Good Joe or Bad Joe. Supporting characters made their marks and the huge ensemble was supremely confident in all its varied dance routines. Professional staging with scenery designed to eliminate any hiatuses and effects for Driving in My Car and other projections beyond the range of virtually all amateur societies completed the picture.
