A classic comedy based on an Italian tradition around the Harlequin. This enjoyed a recent West End run and having it available to amateur groups is a useful addition to the repertoire. Southside enjoy trying a range of show types and judging by the audience this went down well. Reminiscent of the sort of comedy prevalent in the 1950’s this had a whole retrospective feel being set in 1963 just before the major cultural shift of the late 60’s.
The group have developed the habit of making the pre show switch off your phones in the style of the production which is a great idea.
