What a superb evening! Class act has done it again, with this outstanding production of “One Man Two Guvnors”. An hilarious British Comedy at its best and performed with skill by this young company.
Satire, slapstick and fast paced dialogue, has got to be one of the hardest performances and this cast lost no opportunity to show how it should be done.
Congratulations to Carl Fielding as Francis Henshall. He captivated the audience with unfaltering dialogue and amazing comedy timing. His one liners, body positioning and facial expressions, had the audience in the palm of his hand and glued to his every word. It would be difficult to fault this performance.
Louise Best [Director] has clearly shown her skill once again in choosing her cast, to meet the needs of each character. Each member of the cast was totally convincing in their portrayal and very professional in their delivery, of what is a difficult script.
Well done to Rob Beresford as Stanley Stubbers and Emily Thomas, taking on the twin role of sister and fiancé as Rachel Crabbe. Excellent comedy timing was shown throughout with clear dialogue between each character, so very important to a listening audience.
Cameo roles can often steal the scene as was shown by Louise Marsh playing the secretary, Dolly. A very enjoyable performance. Alan Dangle as Dan Williamson used his comedic lines to great effect as the “actor”.
Megan Pugh, who has become a very skilled actor gave a very convincing performance as Pauline Clench and always engages totally with the roles she plays.
This company never disappoints and the whole cast has given a very professional performance of this difficult play and it was greatly appreciated by an audience that enjoyed and laughed through every moment.
A special congratulation to Louise Marsh for the excellent set design, it enhanced the show for everyone.
Well done to all.
