Oliver!

Well done for a great evening. A sell-out audience was well entertained and it was good to see the youngsters throwing themselves into the production enthusiastically and obviously enjoying themselves as well. Ensemble scenes were very good and there were some notable performances; Nancy and Fagin stood out, and The Artful Dodger and Oliver worked well together, adding much to the show.

The movement was good and the children all performed very well as a team and individuals, with clear bright singing. The scenes in Fagin’s den were highlights. The music was spot on, the band played really well. The tempo was right for the various performers and the balance was great and blended very well with the singers.

Sound, lights and costumes all combined to add to the overall effect. The set was excellent; simple but very effective with arches, openings and the bridge with Fagin’s den underneath it.
