After a three year break P&P Productions returned to the Poole Lighthouse Concert hall with their Autumn Concert 'Oh Happy Days'. With three shows, Two, Five and Eight, plus a morning rehearsal, it is certainly a marathon for the cast.

At the moment P & P have a multitude of young performers and this concert was a great show case for them to show off their talent. It was certainly a fast paced show which was largely songs from the modern musicals, but there were one or old favourites thrown in

In the first half I thought that the outstanding numbers were 'You Will be Found' from Dear Evan Hansen, 'Someday I’ll Fly Away' from Moulin Rouge, 'Not a Day Goes by from Merrily We Roll Along', and “Good Morning” from Singing in the Rain, which was also featured a fabulous tap dance routine.

At the start of the second 'alf I was very impressed with the children performing solo numbers from “Into the Woods “and I loved the song 'A Change in Me'. There was excellent four part harmony in 'Mr Sandman', and 'Sleeping On Our Own' from Martin Guerre brought some light hearted comedy to the evening.

Sadly during big productions numbers the rather loud band meant that much of the chorus singing was lost, even when there were about 40 adults and 50 children singing their hearts out.

It was a shame that there were not more people in the audience to support you, but I thought that it was a very enjoyable evening and credit must be given to whole company for having such energy and enthusiasm to complete three performances.
