My Fair Lady

Congratulations Curtain Up on a great production. ‘My Fair Lady’ based on the play ‘Pygmalion’ is a classic always popular with audiences. This production was no exception and the team of David Wrightam as Director, Simon Percy as Musical Director and Hayley Wrightam as Choreographer should be very pleased with the end result.

After the initial sound blip at the beginning the show moved along nicely and gave us a well polished show with great lively choreography and a chorus full of life and bounce. Eliza Doolittle, Emma Wighton together with Henry Higgins, David Phillips had good command of the characters and worked well together. There were good performances by Andrew Bailey as Colonel Pickering, John Lane as Alfred Doolittle, Alex Raines as Freddy Eynesford-Hill, Amanda Jepson-Trushell as Mrs Pearce and I particularly enjoyed the performance of Jeannine Ridha as Mrs Higgins. All in all this was a very good cast and all gave commendable performances.

The orchestra sounded good and the scenery, sets and costumes were great which all added to a wonderful evenings entertainment. Congratulations to all.
