My Fair Lady

This classic musical made an excellent choice for this company and was presented in front of an appreciative audience which was clearly delighted to be back in the theatre.
Musical support was excellent.  Balance between the stage and the pit was perfect.  Men’s chorus was a little bottom heavy.
Direction from Susan Payne included a lot of movement.  The piece included a lot of characterisation from chorus members who all sang and danced with enthusiasm.  Choreography was suited to the cast and performing area.
Costumes were well selected and included some stunning ensembles.  The Ascot scene was particularly striking. 
A very strong cast was led by exemplary performances from Eliza and Higgins.
This was a colourful and highly entertaining show.
