The title says it all ! The Light produced a great evening of musical entertainment, with a balanced and varied programme. An excellent selection of songs from various shows, both old and new, that allowed the company to show off their talents. A careful blend of ensemble numbers, duets and solos, sufficiently varied to suit everyone's taste. I especially enjoyed the Cole Porter Medley in the first half, along with the unacompanied number 'I Could Have Danced All Night'. This is the type of singing the Light excel at. In a contrasting mood they concluded the first half with a selection of songs from 'Billy Elliott', quite moving, and very well done. The construction of the set complimented the show, with steps up at each side, and a platform across the top, it gave a three D effect on stage, and everyone could be seen. I was less convinced by the leggins worn by the younger girls, they really don't suit everyone, please girls wear smart trousers in future, like the older ladies of the society. It was great to see more movement, well done Ashley. The second half concluded with a 'Mamma Mia' medley and YES! Thank you for the Music Halifax L.O.S. My Congratulation to all involved.
