With a veritable cornucopia of shows ranging from Me & My Girl to Chess, Chitty, Chitty Bang Bang to Chicago and from an Old Time Music Hall to Pricilla Queen of the Desert, there was something to suit every taste, this was a show which showed off the talent of this society, there were no stars except for the society itself.

Starting off with Me & My Girl we had a good selection of songs from this very popular show which gave plenty of scope for the whole cast to show off their talents, and this they did with ease. With such well known songs as Me & My Girl, The Sun Has Got His Hat On, Once You Lose Your Heart and of course The Lambeth Walk to name but a few. the whole company was very much at ease here.

This show moved at a cracking pace quickly from one show to the next and from one sketch to the next solo etc all more than ably backed by a great combo under the direction of Ray Gallagher, although I do have to say they were a little overpowering in some of the sections resulting in some of the voices being lost.

The first half came to a close with a Love section which featured a great number of songs all with the love theme including All you need is Love and many others too numerous to mention.

Opening the second half we had Chitty, Chitty Bang, Bang which once again the audience loved, with such great numbers as Me Old Bamboo, a beautiful rendition of Hush-a- bye Mountain by the ladies chorus, Chitty Bang, Bang and Truly Scrumptious with Lucy Gutteridge and Martin Farthing as the puppets, this was once again a hit.

A solo followed by Anne Giblin who sang with ease Someone Like You from Jekyll & Hyde, to say Anne sang this lovely would be an understatement, it was beautiful.

Another section which was a hit with the audience was the Old Time Music Hall which gave us a chance to sing along with the cast on stage.

This was followed by numbers from Chicago including the favourite Cell Block Tango performed by Anne, Lucy, Ruth, Eleanor, Eve and Katy, this was excellent and almost brought the house down, this was followed by a brilliant rendition of When You’re Good to Mama by Katy.

I would think when the finale of the show was performed the audience was not sure what hit them, again this was performed with ease by the cast especially Martin, Kieran and Tom as the drag queens they were  exceptional and were able to show off their talents to the full.

There were some really good performances in this show and some exceptional harmonies and one of the great things which came over the footlights was the sheer enthusiasm of the whole cast, smiling all the way through, something which does not always happen in many shows these days, this only added to the enjoyment of the whole audience.

Many, many congratulations to everyone involved in this show, I am sure the production team of Anne, Gwen and Ray must be very proud of the final product.
