Murder at Checkmate Manor

Oh my word!! What a crazy afternoon I had at Murder at Checkmate Manor by Avenue Theatre Productions. So few players playing so many parts, did I get them mixed up? Yes, I did, so much so, looking at the programme, didn’t help me. So, forgive me for this review……Jean Spann and Janine Hall. What a great choice of a play to direct. And you did it proud. Whoever played Clarissa I think greeted me at the door in character such a bossy woman, this woman played so many parts all different. This woman is such an accomplished actress, so funny and got the audience on her side. Her French maid and many more they were exceptional. Also joining her was a cast of line perfect (or were they?) were there mistakes I wouldn’t know! Who cares, we were entertained and that’s what matters. Thank you. Bradley Pattison, Rebecca Reeves, Sarah de Gernier, Janine Hall, Rose Andrew, Daniel Barnes and Adam Bicknell.
