Another entertaining panto was presented by this society which keeps itself very busy with several productions each year, involving both adults and youngsters, musicals, a panto, a summer concert season and plays.

This was a very traditional show which was very well held together by Mike Hammond as Mother Goose.  Utilising a basic script here, one of Mike great strengths is his ability to listen for response not only from the audience but his fellow performers.  He was very well supported by Ryan Wilson as Billy Goose who showed a good range of skills.

I liked both Jade Inman as Colin Goose and Oprah Kitchen as Sally, the Baron’s daughter, the Baron being strongly played by David Watson.  Jade and Oprah’s duets were accomplished and, as a young performer, Jade equipped herself nicely to her Principal Boy role.

Once again I enjoyed Roger Fozzard as the king and his duet with Linda Coope (the Queen) was almost a show stopper.  It was super and showed the extensive experience of the presenters.

Youngsters Amy Gallop and Emelia Hughes were fun as Snitch and Snatch and there was good back up from Fairy Sunlight (Pamela Dalley), Mistress Valdewart (Denise Johnson) and Leah Hughes as a lovely Goose, along with everyone else who took the smaller and chorus roles.

Songs were accompanied by backing tracks which were fine although the cast were sometimes waiting to start their songs.

Costumes were good and a simple set just right.  It was an enjoyable evening.
