Who can resist a bit of ABBA, not me. It is always difficult to produce a revue, let alone one that keeps your interest throughout, but this one did just that. All the numbers performed had a visible story to it; no one just stood and sang.
There were some rarely heard number, When All is Said and Done, Slipping Through My Fingers, When I kissed the Teacher and The Day Before You Came to name but a few.
I am not going to mention individuals, as there were far too many to name, and all would deserve a mention
There were tearjerkers, sing along and comedy numbers, which played to the strengths of the individuals involved, and everyone was involved. This is a large society with an equally large age range, and to get everyone that involved must have taken immense planning.
I am given to understand that this was the Directors first revue, although I have seen them on stage many times, this was a baptism of fire given the mixed aged and abilities, but it was a brilliant first show, it was colourful, lively and bright.
The whole show was performed to backing tracks, which are never easy as there is no room for error, and the vast majority were spot on, well done.
All in all I can honestly say that a good time was had by both cast, crew and most importantly, audience. Congratulations to all involved.
