Lyndhurst's first time back on stage took place at The Mailman's Arms pub gardens on a sunny afternoon on 14th August. Melons at the Personage a one act comedy by Nick Warburton went down a treat.

The lawn was 'The stage', costumes were just right and you could tell everyone was so happy to be taking part.

The play is set around a drama festival, with two amateur dramatic societies fighting for first place. Iris (Chairperson of festival) - Pat Porter - has already won a couple of trophies.

Ted (Adjudicator) - Peter Dawson - assisted by the Festival Stage Manager - Glen Blackburn - get the two groups to do their plays again (this is the first time the audience get to see their plays), but there is a twist as they then want each group to do the play again, but for them to take on the roles of the other group's play.

This is met with lots of complaining each saying their group is better than the other. Both plays are good and they have been cast very well. The first is

The Bletchworth Players. Played by:
Vicar - Richard Barnett
Maid - Di Buck
Spinster - Rosemarie Tiffen

The second group are

The Frantic Jams played by:
Jam 1 - Jack Barnett
Jam 2 - Ingrid Bond
Jam 3 - Donna West
Jam 4 - Jude Young

It's a good play with lots of comedy, great one liners and the timings and tension between the groups mounted as the play went on. It was so nice to see a play again after a long time away.

Well done everyone.
