Me & My Girl is mine and lots of other peoples' favourite show with lots of humour and well known songs. This production did not fail me I enjojed it from start to finish. The opening overture for this show is always impressive and Nick Dolling (M.D.) gave full justice to it. The cast was strong in all the roles Daniel Mann (Bill Snibson) gave a fine performance extracting all the humour that this wonderful role supplies and he was superbly supported by Gemma Fowler (Sally Smith) she sang, danced and acted with total confidence, they were both fabulous. Jo Owen (The Duchess of Dene) gave a most impressive performance certainly one of the most impressive Duchesses I have seen in this role, she was again fortunate to be fed brilliantly by Billy Walker (Sir John Tremayne). They combined together to give fine performances. Alison Wood (Lady Jacqueline) was every inch seductive & scheming and set on marrying Bill. Darren Smith (Gerald Bolingbroke) departed very much from the usual camp style of playing this role but he still came over well. Les Smith (Parchester, the family solicitor) played a role that he was most happy with and gave us a most amusing and likeable performance. The excellent sound, lighting and costumes together with the very clever staging using back projection was a great idea for the small stage. A most enjoyable show.
