Monmouth Music Theatre’s large company was perfect for their very successful, lively, production Me and My Girl.
Numerous roles for M M T’s wealth of experienced members and new talented young faces to delight us in leading roles.
Bill Snibson has to ooze talent and Shay Morris is a natural, singing, dancing, tapping, acting, he has it all, and an acrobat!! Brilliant! His gorgeous lady was amazing Louise Miller a really wonderful rapport with all on stage and gave a perfect portrayal of Sally.
Grahame Bryant was excellent as Sir John who with his versatility makes any character come alive. Kate Downes gave a superb portrayal of The Duchess her timing and demeanour right in every detail. Her “Do be quiet you futile man I am impervious to flattery” was scintillating!! Gerald was entrusted to experienced Andrew Griffiths bringing humour and wicked fun to this character and Andrea Pole as the sultry Jacqui was excellent, their duet, You Would if You Could a showstopper. Nelson Whaley was the Parchester to die for, refined and hilarious, All other parts were also very good, especially Lyn Hounsome, Mrs Brown and Doug Hall excellent as Charles.
Brilliant numbers with an energised ensemble and enthusiasm Me and My Girl, The Sun Has Got his Hat On, Men Of Harwood.
Outstanding costumes by ACE coordinated by Lynda Foster.
The appreciative audience went home singing. Well done Director Andrew Griffiths MD Ian Russell all cast and team making this a great success, thank you Monmouth.
