Matilda Jr

After the enforced break of 2 years, Billboard Juniors bounced back with a full-on performance of Matilda Jr. Matilda jr was an ideal show for them to perform with plenty of activity for all. 

So many in the cast had a named part but there just wouldn’t be room to mention them all. Every member of the cast embodied their role, however small, from the moment they stepped on stage.

However, a special mention must go to Matilda [ Lottie Provis ]. This young actress maintained the character throughout the full show, down to the very last curtain. Dialogue was intelligently delivered and musicality good. A young actress to look out for in the future.

The scenery was simple but effective. However, it would have been more effective if more of the box combinations spelt out actual words encouraging the audience to recognise as many words as they could throughout the storyline.

There is little doubt that Billboard Juniors are blessed with many talented young people, but to nurture that talent and provide guidance, support and advice for those young people, both on and off stage, requires experienced role models and Billboard Juniors are blessed to have Ceri Goodwin, Samantha Williams and David Winterbottom.

This was a production to be proud of by all involved.
