The Dagenham Ford factory is 4 miles from the Kenneth More Theatre and Havering Music Makers brought this piece of local social history to the Ilford stage for the audience and cast to identify with one of their stories.

Made in Dagenham is a witty, cleverly crafted show that tells an important story of a struggle for gender pay equality. The script purposefully reflects how far social values have changed in the last 50 years, illustrated pointedly by some painful sexist insults and jokes.

HMM have such a strong ensemble that this was an ideal show for them and one they delivered with characteristic energy and skill. Their outstanding leads, especially Ami Harman Robinson as Rita, gave their production a professional quality their loyal audiences gave them standing ovations.
