Made In Dagenham is a popular choice for societies as it contains many fine roles for the members to play and has a very strong story line about womens rights for equal pay in the 1960's and 70's. Emma Jeffreys (Rita O'Grady) and Andrew Lockwood (Eddie O'Grady) both played their roles with complete conviction conveying the hugh strains that can be put on families when there is conflict in the home and the workforce, great acting and singing by both with this very difficult score to learn. The four main factory workers Beryl Cass Clare and Sandra all gave fine support to Rita as she fights with the Union. Francine Phillips (Connie Riley the girls' rep) and Stuart Marshall (Monty the Union shop steward) both gave excellent portrayals in their roles. Two more very eye catching portrayals came from Gary Homes as Harold Wilson (even the right coat!) and Donna Turner as Barbara Castle they were just perfect for their parts and worked well together. The direction was well organised and the orchestration played well but a little intrusive at times when playing to under score some of the lib. The 'Stand Up' number at the end of the show was an outstanding feature of the production.
