A high standard of production for this musical highlighting sexism and misogyny as well as other topical issues such as American business influence in the UK.
A most impressive ensemble worked extremely hard throughout, staying focused and committed. The singing was very good and all the harmonies were secure; the choreography had clearly been thoroughly rehearsed and was confidently portrayed. The one-liners – always so easy to sag - were quick and energetic. Those involved in changing scenery did so beautifully cleanly, staying in character throughout, and in crowded scenes, such as the Ford social club, the ensemble was natural and animated without pulling focus.

The set incorporated a screen which was cleverly used for projected scenery, really helping to place each scene, including an appropriate photo of Oliver Cromwell’s statue, and black-and-white train footage to get us to Liverpool.
