Set in Berlin the 1980s it follows Peter Fisher, the manager of the West Berlin office for a British car company. Fisher is hiding his secret life as an undercover agent for the British Security of Industry, a role which his is singularly ill equipped.

When his wife Monica's trip to England is unexpectedly cancelled, Peter's double life swiftly unravels when his is visited by Heidi, a voluptuous telegram girl, Mitzi, BSI spy.Calwallader from the British Security of Industry and Tregunter-Jones, a rather butch rep from Midland motors.  Many comings and going followed by lots of confusion.

Particular praise goes to John Varlow (Peter Fisher) never leaves the stage, keeping up with his double life struggling to stop his guests discovering the truth about each other.  This was not an easy role, but John handled this extremely well.

Bill Wilde (Calwallander) delivered his pompous character well, showing frustration with Fisher one minute then to sheer panic the next.

The ladies were well cast and all gave great comedy timing.  Amanda Gill (Heidi) Fisher's mistress. Heather Boulby (Monica) his trusting wife. Lou  Hardy (Mitzi) from Barnsley, the singing telegram who spends the entire play trying to make the perfect omelette.  Anna Wilkinson giving a gung-ho performance as Tregunter-Jones. Great performances from all of these ladies.

David Smith (Kurt/Hans) the mysterious voice, we never see him,   Hence the title of the play!

Farce is incredibly difficult to do, and more so when the company have a very small stage to perform on. The direction, set, sound and lighting was well through out, and it all worked very well. On occasions the pace of the play was lost, but it was picked up very quickly. Credit goes to the director Karen Kirkup and all the cast for making this a very good production.

Thank you for your hospitality, and a lovely evening out.
