I was excited to see this production of Little Shop Of Horrors. I hoped the Wellington team would make it into a fabulous show and I certainly was not disappointed.

The story is set in down town, skid row in New York, at a rundown florist shop, owned by Mushnik. Shop assistant Seymour was played extremely well with a convincing American accent and great singing voice. Seymour has discovered an unusual plant, Audrey2, which becomes a major attraction. When the curtains opened, the stage looked superb with a very impressive set which created a wonderful atmosphere. I thought that the leading roles were all excellent throughout. They performed some great renditions of “Skid Row”,”Somewhere that’s green”, “Mushnik & son”and many others. The “Rosebuds” sang and danced beautifully. All nine of these young ladies had great stage presence, fabulous voices and great dancing skills. The Audrey 2 puppets voice was performed by Albert Hacker to great effect with puppeteers animating the plant to ensure a threatening presence was always in place within the set. It must be a difficult job animating such a puppet, so congratulations are in order to the team. The show was very slick, well directed with great choreography. It was great to have live musicians playing and I have to say, that it did sound superb. Well done to all the cast, including the ensemble and the crew for a wonderful performance. I cannot put into words how fantastic this production was.

Thank you so much for inviting me and I look forward to your next performance
