As always with Woodkirk Academy shows it is very difficult to know where to start to report as there is always so much to admire in all sections of the production. I take for granted that the casting will be very good and I was not disappointed this year. Archie Rhodes (Seymour) gave a wonderful portrayal as the rather nervous flower shop assistant acting and singing with complete confidence and was extremely well supported by Ava Hosley (Audrey) with a sort of Maralyn Monroe squeaky type interpretation of the role. Adam Mason as Mr. Mushnik was simply outstanding he acted and sung with a very professional style as did Max Green as Orin Scrivello the mad sadistic dentist and Audrey's boyfriend both very eyecatching performances. Another outstanding feature was by the three girl trio of Bethany Smith (Crystal) Sofia Fourket (Ronnette) and Maisie Foster (Chiffon) they kept the show buzzing along with some great song & dance and acting routines. Of course the show is all about the plant (James Surtees) as the voice and Ben Pink (Plant operator) they were very impressive. The stage set was well organised as was the sound, lighting and costumes. I think this year I must make special mention of the orchestra they were brilliant the audience stayed on to listen to the play-out music at the end of the performance.
