A cast of about nine ladies and five men and two lady presenters made up the cast of ‘Let us entertain you!’ It seems it had a lot of recent cast changes and dropouts as the two presenters informed us from the beginning. I felt that the content of this piece of entertainment was good and well presented in some cases. A little more rehearsal could have helped. There is no mention of a Director in the programme so I am presuming it was a group affair. If this was the case, well done…but Margaret Smart expertly executed the Musical Direction also taking part in the production, no mean feat. Praise must go to you Margaret.
Yes this was the first night and there were a few prompts and corpses on stage, but sometimes in this sort of entertainment they can be accepted as comical. Your two Lady presenters coped well with the mishaps on stage and gave us the giggle factor. Well-done Ken Duce for “My word”. Filled with song and sketches this ‘Let us entertain you!’ rolled along nicely, yes there were some pitching problems at times, but this can be down to that not all were singers, and first night nerves as well. But it was lovely to see that EVERYONE was involved in same way or other, which made this production entertaining.
