One thing is certain, these young people will never forget the experience of performing in this remarkable world famous musical. It can, and has changed lives

and even inspired careers in theatre. Taking six years for Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schonberg to write this incredible work adapted from Victor Hugo’s famous book Les Miserables written in 1862. That it is now available for young people to perform and share in this work is a way forward for the future of theatre performance.

Once the baton of the MD goes down this production like a never ending train journey never stops until the finale, so concentration is at maximum to make a success. Mayhem Youth Theatre rose to this challenge brilliantly with sharp entrances and exits and precision stage work, and also musically.

This company gives their young people every opportunity to direct, choreograph, conduct and involve themselves in every aspect of the productions they are involved in and their skills were apparent This was an excellent well staged production,

I would have liked to see the back stage crew in costume as the magic goes if we can see stage crew especially in this production

Chris Bashford was brilliant as Jean Valjean, skilfully played this demanding role and Josh Ellis was a powerful Javert. Florence Mayo as the tragic Fantine and Gracie Follows singing exquisitely gave a natural Eponine bringing out all the facets of this emotion charged role. Josh Morgan played this role well, his rich voice filling the theatre and gave us perfect diction  as Marius. Sophie Pope gave a sensitive characterisation of Cosette. Both young parts of these roles were excellent

Oliver Riba-Fookes brought great light and shade to the role of Enjolras The barricade scene was outstanding with a spirited Gavroche from Corey Morgan/Harry Cummins.

Dan Follows as Monsieur Thenadier was a star performer with superb support from Madame Thenadier, India Elliott. Congratulations to all the production team and cast

Thank you for your kind hospitality and welcome.

Superb real life scenes were created throughout and it just proves that give this all demanding and challenging production to these talented young people and great success happens!
