"Legally Blonde: The Musical" tells the story of Elle Woods, a popular sorority girl who, after being dumped by her boyfriend Warner, decides to enrol at Harvard Law School to win him back. Throughout her journey, she not only challenges stereotypes about "dumb blondes" but also discovers her own potential.

In the leading roll of Elle Woods, Leah Thomson, was well cast transitioning from dumb blonde to confident lawyer with ease. She gave a strong performance demonstrating good stage presence coupled with a lovely singing voice. Noah McSkimming as her ultimate love interest Emmett Forrest handled the journey from geeky and slightly shy to well-dressed and driven with confidence. Good acting and a good singing voice he made a good match for Elle.

As the ruthless lawyer, Professor Callaghan, Kayden Weir captured the essence of the role delivering an assured performance. As the rejected boyfriend Warner, Mason Mkangama gave a strong and confident performance coming to realise eventually once it was too late what he had let slip from his grasp. As hairdresser Paulette, Lola Punton, provided many of the comedy moments in the show and displayed great timing to ensure every line landed.

Initially mocking of Elle, Emma McCulloch, came to recognise the value of true friendship displaying a confident performance whilst Millie McFarlane gave a strong delivery as Enid Hoops. As fitness expert Brooke Wyndham, Grace Todd was confident and full of life manging to skip and sing at the same time!

The show has many other wonderful characters and all those in these roles, too many to mention individually, can be incredibly proud of their performances. It was clear all had worked hard to develop their characters which they maintained throughout. The large ensemble remained focused throughout the show and added to the overall quality of the production.

Singing by principals and chorus alike was strong and assured and movement well-rehearsed and confident. Direction and the use of a simple set ensured the pace was maintained and the performances allowed to shine through.

With a large cast of talented performers, the future for the club and amateur theatre in the local area is in safe hands.

Well done to all for a great production.
